From the Blog 'I Love Florence'
Last friday I went to Hairforce, after my travel to Ny I needed to have my hair cut and brushed! The hairdressers Hairforce is in the heart of Florence, in the historic Via Ghibellina, 2 steps from Santa Croce.
The salon, recently restructured, is managed by Joe, Sicilian, but in reality a citizen of the world (including London and Tokyo - searching for the latest fashion trends). Working alongside Joe is a group of young, very friendly and well-trained colleagues.
Always up-to-date on the latest cuts and colours, they understand quickly which look will suit you best, and when the moment has come for a change. But the really great thing about Hairforce is not just the professionalism or the talent of the team in terms of cut and style, it is the atmosphere that exists in the salon - a place where you can really relax in peace.
As soon as you walk in the door you are offered a coffee and then head to the shiatsu massage chair for a shampoo.
There is also free internet for clients, so you can check your emails if you like.
A quick flick through the magazines, a chat, a joke and then the relaxing shampoo and massage.
Then the cut, the colour, the blow dry. Every one of the team specialises in something: whether its colour,up-dos and styling or cutting.
The fact that they are in the centre of Florence also means that they know the new bars and restaurants that opening - in a chat between cut and blow-dry, you often find out nuggets of information about things to do in the city.
And they are pretty quick, and reasonably priced.

Great service and professionals who love hair. Its been so long since I've had a decent cut and colour. What a blessing to find these guys. Hair force truly one of the great icons of Florence :)
My dilemma of course is working out how I get back on regular basis to enjoy the service in the future.

The first day I went in to see if they could fit me in they said they were busy, but then they said if I come back tomorrow they\'ll be lots of spots and I\'m glad I waited.
No wonder they\'re so booked. The people in there are really nice and they keep you busy with their magazines and they even have a computer for you to use when you\'re waiting for you appointment.
The hair washing process was AMAZING! The chair itself is a massage chair. So as you\'re getting your hair washed you\'re also getting a massage too...AWESOME!
When I went to the chair to get my hair chopped off my hair stylist pointed out that since my face is round I shouldn\'t keep my hair straight because it\'ll create a weird shape for my face. Which I have noticed. And...they have an iPad for you to use while you get your haircut...that\'s pretty good for entertainment.
When I come back to Italy I\'m definitely coming back to Hair Force!!! Great service.

Dear Joe & all the staff at Hairforce,
Just wanted to send a little note to say thank you so much for my wonderful hair and make up for our wedding on the 24th of August.
We had the most amazing day and will have very happy memories always. Your team were wonderful and we had so much fun that morning having our hair and make up done.
I will promote Hairforce for any Irish brides getting married in Firenze. I will send some further photos in another email.
